Hi, I had the same issue running Ubuntu 12.10 64bit on a btrfs partition for / and /home. I updated kernel (3.7.0-030700-generic #201212102335 SMP Tue Dec 11 04:36:24 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) per Joseph's suggestion.
The first reboot, it hung and this was the display text: *************************** checking battery state -- ok stopping system V runlevel compatibility -- ok starting ***************************** I did a soft power off, and restarted and it worked. Let me know what other info I can provide. (fyi apport-collect not working either: apport-collect 1088185 ERROR: The launchpadlib Python module is not installed. This functionality is not available.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1088185 Title: kernel hangs on boot with btrfs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1088185/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
