Happens to me too in xubuntu. It dims to lowest brightness. I circumvented this problem by disabling automatic brightness reduction in Xfce Power Manager. My guess is that there are calculation problems in the percentage of dimming level. Are there any logs we can provide to help troubleshoot this issue?
