It's also a good idea to include Adobe Reader Asian font pack into the Ubuntu package: - ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.3/enu/ + ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.1/misc/ As for now, the freshest Adobe Reader version found in Ubuntu repositories is an outdated acroread 9.5.1-1precise1, and it's not only outdated, but also has some serious packaging errors: 1) it has some incorrect dependencies, which make it non-installable on amd64 systems due to multiarch problems (see bug #990761); 2) the source package contains not only Adobe Reader 9.5.1 English version inside, but also obsolete 9.4.2 German, French and Japanese versions (needs some research, can result in some security problems etc.). For Ubuntu Quantal & Raring, Adobe Reader seems to be completely missing from Ubuntu repositories, i. e. "partner" repository.
