Public bug reported:
Users on a 64 bit version of Quantal cannot install the Ecere SDK
Issues in the control files regarding Architecture: all packages and font
package dependency prevent installation.
The problem has been solved in Debian, by properly following the Multi-Arch
guidelines:
- The dependency on fonts-freefont-ttf is now a 'Recommended' instead of
'Depends'
- The Ecere architecture: all packages were marked as Multi-Arch: foreign
- The Libraries were marked as Multi-Arch: same
- Libraries are now always put in /usr/lib/$(DEB_HOST_MULTIARCH)
[Test Case]
Simply trying to install the sdk on an amd64 installation of Quantal will give
you errors:
sudo apt-get install ecere-sdk
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ecere-sdk:i386 : Depends: ecere-dev:i386 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: ecere-smples:i386 but it is not installable
Depends: ecere-extras:i386 but it is not installable
[Regression Potential]
This package should not cause any regression issue, as its impact is limited to
a previously uninstallable package.
