Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-vesa

X has problems starting on my ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with the standard VESA
driver.
The error message says that there are no usable screens found when X tries to
start.
I can solve the problem by dropping to a tty with Ctrl-Alt-Fx and installing
fglrx, but I have to fight with ifconfig and iwconfig and networking to
estabilish a proper wireless connection from the commandline (I'm on a laptop
and don't have convenient access to a wired plug) so that fglrx can be fetched.
This bug was in Feisty, and has persisted into Gutsy as far as I can tell.

I can submit the output from sudo lspci -vvnn, the very basic and default
xorg.conf that gets used to reproduce the error.
I'll also submit more exact error text and also Xorg.0.log files as soon as I
reproduce the error again.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-driver-vesa (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
