To clarify: There is currently no way to adjust display brightness in
linux.

A low-level interface needs to be written that adjusts the right bits in
the hardware.

Pommed works with macbook rev3, but as long as such an interface does
not exist the pommed only calls a dummy function when the hotkeys are
pressed.

This is independant from the distribution..
