Public bug reported:
"invalid arch independent ELF magic" causes grub2 to not work. All
attempts to cure with dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc and boot-repair and even
the live-cd fix have failed to restore grub2. Our server is dark. A most
serious fatal error. This ELF is acting like a virus. Please address
immediately.
