I tried to do that in the mean time (using Alt F2), but no web browser
in terminal, so couldn't finish it, and haven't been able to locate the
report yet. .... Anyhow, I googled a little further and learned that
compizconfig settings manager is a notorious culprit. So I did a compiz
revert to standard followed by a unity --reset and uninstall of CCSM.
And now it seems stable for quit some days....
