The problem still occurs with kernel 3.8.0-030800rc2-generic, so I went
back to 3.2.0-37-generic.

I was able to plugin/out ONCE without crash when I used this kernel
line: "quiet splash drm.vblankoffdelay=1 i915.semaphores=1
i915.powersave=1 i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 acpi_os_name='Microsoft Windows
XP'". But I think it was just a coincidence.

Could this problem be related to partitioning? Both me and my friend
have Zenbook Ux31, Ubuntu 12.04 and Unity desktop. I've got this
crashing problem and it occurs almost every time I plug in/out my AC
cable when I'm logged to Ubuntu (any desktop) but not in grub or Windows
7. My friend never has this problem. We compared our setups and found
out that the only major difference between our machines is partitioning.
Here's mine:

60 GB NTFS (Windows 7)
20 GB ext4 (Ubuntu)
39 GB ext2 (Home) (Why ext2? Because it can be most easily mounted to Windows 7)
7,5 GB FAT32 (Recovery)
1,1 GB Swap

Here's his:

115 GB Ext4 (Ubuntu)
4 GB Swap
9 GB FAT32 (Recovery (which is not working, btw))
*no crashing ever*

I'm just wondering could my partitioning cause or at least interfere
with the problem? What kind of partitioning do you others have?
