Ok. So there is no other solution than to remove the old UBUNTU and consider a
new installation.

Title:
My UBUNTU 12.04 LTS has stopped working

Status in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Hi. I deleted some programs I added in order to be able to update the 12.04
OR upgrade to 12.10 as the space designated for UBUNTU is/was not enough to
upgrade. When deleting programs I obviously deleted something I should not have
deleted.
Next time I tried to start UBUNTU, it failed to login. I have the CD with
12.04 and I do not want to erase all I have on  the 12.04 I have used for about
8 months.
Ca I repair with the cd??
  If so how??
