Interesting. I've removed the duplication. For some reason, I still
have /usr/share/applications/NVIDIA-Settings.desktop installed locally,
although I can confirm it is no longer supplied by nvidia-glx-new.
Separately, regarding the icon, my understanding is that Ubuntu has not
been granted a license to redistribute the nVidia icon for the .desktop
file. If this is not the case, it should indeed be used.
