Unchecking 'Available to all users' in Network Manger settings for all my connections did NOT solve the issue for me.
However, disabling plymouth - by uninstalling plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo and plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text - DID SOLVE the issue.
