Public bug reported:

Upon opening qgis, Unity sometimes crashes.

After an indeterminable amount of time, the icons on the left-hand side
reappear. I haven't yet been able to figure out what steps I can
specifically take to specifically trigger the crash, but it occasionally
happens with when launching qgis. I have included the most recent crash
that occured.
