  Ah thanks for those; right a good set of logs at last!
      Would it be possible for you to attach your samba/cifs/mount confirg 
files (stripped of any passwords etc obviously);
       How repeatable is this for you - i.e. if I was ask you to try newer 
kernels would you be able to give a 'works'/'fails' fairly reliabily?
