steps to reproduce:
1) Install 6.20.155.1+bdcom-0ubuntu0.0.1 from precise-updates.
2) Set network security to open.
3) Connect to the network.
4) expected: successful connection; actual: unable to obtain IP address
Other info:
After upgrading bcmwl-kernel-source to the new version it worked well on two
WPA2 secured networks, and then refused to connect (unable to get an IP
address, using both dhclient and dhcpcd, while using wicd) on an open network.
I was able to reproduce this changing the network to secure (and getting
connected) and back to open (not getting an ip address).
Also tried: reinstalling the package, removing and restoring the module
(rmmod wl && modprobe wl), rebooting the machine with similar results. I
tried booting into the 'generic' kernel as well, and got similar
results.
Reverting to the package 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu6 worked properly.
