I can confirm that the md5 of the fixed script in the package that just built on LP matches that of the file I have in my working VM here (that I had to hand edit in the middle of a d-i install for testing).
I can't easily check that the rest of the package is regression free, but considering the diff only applies to this single file, that seems likely. We'll only be able to be 100% sure once we have a new media built from this and at this point we need it to be promoted to precise- updates for this to happen.
