I have been asked to report it as a new bug.
System will not boot without 'acpi=off' as the parameter.

+ UPDATE: Adding 'acpi_backlight=vendor dell_laptop.backlight=0' instead
+ of 'acpi=noirq' as the parameter also fixes (or works around) the issue
