@ dwatne10 I have to boot it up to be sure, but I think it is 12.10. Previous comments show it may be a lack of support for my graphics chipset. Solutions required me to access the terminal, which I can do, but I don't know how to manipulate the fix.
The machine is a dual-boot with windows 7, all I want is a plug-and-play linux OS to use as an alternative to windows.
