I can confirm that this bug is still present in Ubuntu 12.10. Installation goes fine, up until all files are copied and the installer goes to "Installing system" where the slideshow rolls.
The workaround to remove the ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu package (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1010461) before installing from the live session still works. Without the workaround, installing on an Acer Aspire 1357LMi is impossible. The installer leaves a half-finished system, without bootloader and initramfs. Processor is AMD Athlon XP-M 3000+, there is no sse2 instruction set in /proc/cpuinfo. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968216 Title: IOError: [Errno 32] Broken pipe To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/968216/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
