No, there is a slightly more complex procedure to rebuild the actual deb package for -intel so that it is listed correctly by synaptic. This simply replaces the intel_drv.so used by the Xserver, and will be overwritten the next time the package is updated. (I prefer this for users as I see this as only a temporary hack that should be fixed in the long term with an updated .deb.)
To verify the driver was installed correctly, 'grep -C2 intel_drv.so /var/log/Xorg.0.log'. That should say 2.21.2 rather than 2.15.901. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/950587 Title: Update to bug #944626 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/950587/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
