I discussed this bug with the #radeon, #nouveau and #xorg IRC channels. We discovered that I was able to boot when booting with the nouveau.modeset=0 kernel parameter. (The radeon.modeset=0 kernel parameter had no effect).
After the machine is booted, attempting to "modprobe -v nouveau modeset=1" causes the machine to hard reboot consistently, same as happens during the boot process. We tried attaching a netconsole, but nothing was printed to it except some swap messages on bootup. It looks like this bug is related to the nouveau drm module. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1128801 Title: Adding second graphics card causes infinite reboot loop for Ubuntu, but Windows boots.
