The reason behind the issue with the driver is acually a change in the
kernel. I don't remember much, but somthing was removed from the kernel
between Precise and Quantal that the CrystalHD driver depends on, so it
does not work. As the driver is unmaintained (I'm paraphrasing a dev
here: "computers are powerfully enough without it, and if you need it,
you need a new computer") no one has fixed it yet.
