To repro in an installed system (I'm using the nexus 7)
- Remove [ -x /usr/bin/ubiquity-dm ] && { stop; exit 0; } from
/etc/init/whoopsie.conf
- sudo apt-get install oem-config-gtk
- sudo touch /var/lib/oem-config/run
then reboot. You should get a black screen instead of oem-config.
