Also, the DVD drive is listed in Vista as Sony DVD RW AW-G540A ATA Device. I've tried gutsy 2.6.22 kernel, and the problem is still present. In feisty with the old kernel it lists it device information under Mobile IDE Controller (pci_8086_2850 intel piix) > IDE device (master) > Sony DVD RW AW-G540A as /dev/hda /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_SONY_DVD_RW_AW_G540A
