Public bug reported:

This system was enabled for 11.10, and fails completely to boot the
12.04.2 amd64 installer.

I tried three times via PXE and twice using two different USB keys, both
of which are known working hardware. In every case, the machine
attempted to load the installer kernel and just locked up completely,
requiring a power-cycle to recover.

The system boots the enabled kernel for 11.10 just fine.
