I have the same problem with a Dell Latitude CPi 233 PII / 256 mb with a Crystal 4237B chip. I cannot get it to work with Ubuntu 7.04. Any help is appreciated. Also, the command "lspnp" does not work for me, I get "lspnp: /proc/bus/pnp not available".
