Public bug reported:

DESKTOP SYSTEM: MB: GIGABITE 990FXA-UD3; GRAPHICS: 2 AMD RADEON H6450, 1
NVIDIA 8600; 3 Hard Drives; LIOGITECH WIRELESS KB&MOUSE; Connected to Hawking
_300AP/Bridge by EDIMAX EW-7811 Adapter/LAN Network-2 Desktops.
I have tried installing the Radeon Cards in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and 12.10 by:
1.- Downloading the drivers from AMD. 2.- Using the procedure given in the
documentation. 12.10 describes the steps to "fix" the problem. 3.-Reinstalling
the OS several times from CDs and running dist-upgrade. Ubuntu 12.04 will NOT
work at all when I switch from Nvidia to Radeon. Ubuntu 12.10 will work
(eventually) very erratically with a split screen, somtimes a full screen, but
then it crashes. The last time I tried it, it took out Firefox and I could not
reinstall it or get Ubuntu to reboot. Any suggestions? I would sincerely
appreciate the help. Thanks.
