Mr Harrington,

To be frank, I got so fed up with this bug that I reverted to XP until it's
fixed.

The only distro that managed my 1400x1050 resolution was simply mepis
6.5(using a special feature at install) until, version
6.5.02 where I guess they used ubuntu rather than debian components.

Since I also had an issue with Synaptic, I had little choice but to
revert.

I tried to install Ubuntu 7.04, but I got an other error message and could
install it at all. So for me, the experience has been the newest, the worst.

Sad, I like Ubuntu.

I'll try again at version 7.10. For now, I gave my 7.04 CD to my bank's IT
manager (Dexia Bank Head office). Our IT testers at group level wanted to
try it out.

If you send me a new CD, at 38 Venelle Bleue 1150 Woluwe St-Pierre Belgium,
I'll try to reinstall Ubuntu and I'll help you out.

Best regards,

Philippe Giguere
