Same here. There are two notification icons in which "new message" notifications sometimes appear:
1) The envelope, which gets a star. When I click on this the message pops up accurately in a telepathy window. 2) The (i) icon, which when I click on it pops up a notification box with the no-op respond button. Version: 0.5.1.
