Public bug reported:

After reinstalling Ubuntu, most of the time, the ubuntu desktop won't
start up. It says the graphics driver was not configured properly and
I'll have to do this myself. There are various options but none of them
save console login actually works.

Other times, everything works fine. The only thing that disturbs me is
the bug report window which pops up several times for the same problem.

I'm now trying this fix:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
