Public bug reported:
I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 x64 on my desktop with GeForce 8500GT.
I have some lags using nouveau, so i have decided to install the package using
the tool 'software sources' (but is the same with apt-get command).
After the reboot, the video server does not work anymore, fortunately removing
the package from the console restore the situation.
Installing the package 'linux-headers-generic' and then the driver package
again, all works fine.
I suggest to add the package 'linux-headers-generic' as dependence to solve the
problem.
If it help I will send the xsession-errors file.
