Public bug reported:

The problem is that brightness is at full and I cannot change it. The Fn+F2,
Fn+F3 keys do not do anything.
I have tried adding boot parameters like nomodeset, acpi_hardware=vendor etc.
But nothing has worked for me.
I even tried the /sys/class/backlight way but there is a problem. This
directory is empty.
I am using ubuntu 12.04.2 64bit and I have tried both open source and amd
proprietary (13.1) drivers (even the 13.2 beta).
I even tried the latest mainline kernels up to 3.8.1 which also did not solve
my problem.
