I manually removed the postgres-xc folder from usr/share. Then I attempted both...
$ sudo dpkg --purge postges-xc followed by $ sudo apt-get remove postgres-xc then repeated the first command. All returned the same error: "invoke-rc.d: initscript postgres-xc, action "stop" failed." The postgres-xc folder is still absent. Entering "$ sudo initdb -D /usr/local/pgsql/data" continues to return the "initdb: Postgres-XC node name is mandatory" error. As far as I can get, Postgresql is still unusable for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084849 Title: package postgres-xc 1.0.0-2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postgres-xc/+bug/1084849/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
