Hello, Don't worry about logging the bug in the wrong place, we're still here to help.
Can you please try renaming the file to get it out of the way (sudo mv usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/checkbox/parsers/dmidecode.py usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/checkbox/parsers/dmidecode.py.bak)? If that works, then try reinstalling the package which should succeed this time. By the way, the fact that my suspicion was confirmed and you get an i/o error with that file means that your hard disk has some bad sectors. I suggest you make a backup of your important files just in case, since these errors sometimes precede a hard disk failure. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1140775 Title: updating checkbox_0.13.7 to checkbox_0.13.9_i386.deb fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/checkbox/+bug/1140775/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
