I ran into a similar problem with my Asus K55A laptop. Initially, I was playing around with 12.04 and Fedora 17 and the brightness hotkeys were working. Later on, I went to test Windows 8 on it, I wiped out the partitions on it. However, I did have to do a BIOS update on it. Later on, I got sick of windows 8, put 7 and Ubuntu back on and now the brightness hotkeys don't work.
I suspect it's a BIOS incompatibility, but I don't know for sure. Fedora 18 also has the same problem. I'll test some older Ubuntu builds just to make sure it's not a regression. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1103620 Title: Adjusting brightness with hot keys doesn't work properly on Asus K55VD-SX205R To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1103620/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
