This was fixed in the 1.14.0 upload of dpkg to Debian, which has landed
in Gutsy. Marking as Fix Released here as well.
$ COLUMNS=150 dpkg -l procps | tail -n 1
ii procps 1:3.2.7-3ubuntu3 /proc file
system utilities

Status: Confirmed => Fix Released
