2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or 
by checking in Software Center
# apt-cache policy pound
pound:
  Installed: 2.5-1.1
  Candidate: 2.5-1.1
  Version table:
 *** 2.5-1.1 0
        500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status


3) What you expected to happen
After setting up pound i expect pound starts when i execute "service pound 
start"


4) What happened instead
pound did not start and and writes the following message in /var/log/syslog: 
"pound: Control "/var/run/pound/poundctl.socket" bind: No such file or 
directory"

The souche file is configured in "/etc/pound/pound.cfg":

# poundctl control socket
Control "/var/run/pound/poundctl.socket"


but the directory "/var/run/pound/" does not exist.
