Preview may be the wrong word. I am not getting icons for the images. However, I have found that if I go into KDE and view the folder/Desktop in konqueror, when I go back into Gnome, I see the icon.
I also note that there are no icons for .wav, .doc, .mp3, or .html. There used to be. So now it is not clear to me if this is a thumbnail problem. I have had to associate files with programs as well.
