Few times already happened to me. Immediately after logging froze Gnome 3. After switching to console (Crtl + Alt + F1) and restart ligthm (sudo service lightdm restart) sound stopped working and for restart sound I had to reboot computer.
Don't you have any solution of this problem. Restarting the computer makes me angry.
