Public bug reported:
After choosing 'Start or install Ubuntu' from the Live CD menu it boots
as normal. When the login screen is just about to load [colored
background, but no login boxes or other options on screen yet] the
system hangs indefinitely.
I know the desktop hanging on some systems with little ram is a known
flaw, but my laptop has over 1GB ram.
