Public bug reported:

The way Ubuntu is currently configured, any customized touchpad settings
are lost after suspend.

This behavior is not present in Debian, and is, therefore, introduced
after Ubuntu does its customizing juju.

This is a ridiculous situation that causes thousands of users to have to
mess with pm-suspend scripts. Not only is that above the skill level of
Ubuntu's target audience, but it is an unneccesary waste time, given
that Debian is set up to configure the settings.

I don't know what the difference is, but this configuration issue should
be addressed.
