It gets fixed by installing a geoclue position provider, eg: $ sudo apt-get install geoclue-ubuntu-geoip
And later $ redshift Makes the problem go away, it's related with bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/redshift/+bug/806364 I'd say that the Ubuntu package should install a geoclue provider by default with this package, the other way to establish a location is through the 'gnome-clock' which is now deprecated in favor of Unity. --- Ubuntu Bug Squad volunteer triager http://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad ** Also affects: redshift Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: redshift -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1093482 Title: Redshift crashes on startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/redshift/+bug/1093482/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
