Well, it happened again, but this time it was easy to verify what happened, I had blocked all the X.Org video related updates on Synaptic, but I didn´t check X.Org-Core, so, yesterday, when I updated the system, X.Org-Core was the only video related update, then, today, when I turned the computer on I got stuck on text mode, just like the last time I described here. I am using Catalyst 13.1 Legacy and here is how I resolved the problem, I went to usr/share/ati and executed the command ./fglrx-uninstall.sh, a message appeared (something like retrieving system environment) for some seconds and then it said I should restart the system and this is what I did. I got back to the desktop and then I reinstalled Catalyst 13.1 Legacy, and I went to Synaptic and blocked the updates for X.Org-Core. Everything is back to normal now.
My specs: https://gist.github.com/Lord-Avallon/4521727 In my opinion, when the system updates X.Org, it, somehow, corrupts my Catalyst 13.1 Legacy driver, I assume it must be some kind of problem with the driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1120008 Title: Got stuck on text mode after update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1120008/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
