Why was this not landed before feature freeze? One attribute of the
development schedule this cycle is that we move feature freeze later in
the cycle so that people could get work done before hand with the
understanding that we would not generally approve things that didn't
make it.

Has the implications of this for non-Unity desktops been explored at
all?

The task list for consolekit is rather prodigious:

Task: ubuntu-desktop, ubuntu-usb, print-server, cloud-image, server,
kubuntu-desktop, kubuntu-active-desktop, kubuntu-active, edubuntu-
desktop, edubuntu-usb, xubuntu-desktop, mythbuntu-frontend, mythbuntu-
frontend, mythbuntu-desktop, mythbuntu-backend-slave, mythbuntu-backend-
slave, mythbuntu-backend-master, mythbuntu-backend-master, lubuntu-core,
ubuntustudio-desktop

Also "the last UDS' is not the UDS at which raring was planned, so I
think it's rather irrelevant to the discussion.
