3) What you expected to happen:

    $proxy https://www.google.com
        http://myproxy:3128

(Consistent output of the proxy URL)

4) What happened instead

    $proxy https://www.google.com
       direct://

    $proxy https://www.google.com
        http://myproxy:3128

    $proxy https://www.google.com
        http://myproxy:3128

    $proxy https://www.google.com
        direct://

(random answer is given)

Same thing happens with `proxy http://www.google.com`
