Thanks James, do you know what commit created the issue? The patch seems a bit hackish and I'm not sure to fully understand the logic ... do you just stop the top_left symbol and then compare the symbol to be displayed to that one? I'm not really familiar with the code but I guess we could start by uploading to raring and see how it goes if it's hard to get an upstream review (could be useful maybe to ping on the upstream bug...)
