Think I see what's going on: the version of gtk-greeter included in Ubuntu 13.04 uses the user profile's desktop background if there is one.
At least one thing is still wrong -- my desktop background is a small image (from subtlepatterns.com) set to tile. The greeter does not tile. Two small enhancement requests if I may: - Being able to turn off the use of user profile backgrounds in gtk- greeter - Being able to specify tiling for the "background=" in gtk-greeter.conf (or by some other means) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1153798 Title: after upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04 beta, the X11 login screen does not use the specified background To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1153798/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
