You've got to be kidding me... the bug is almost five years old... The r50e laptop this bug was about is now running Debian Stable, because newer kernels dropped support for its network card. It is an 8-year old machine, and frankly, I'm a little surprised that it can still run as well as it does. But anyway, I've lost personal interest in this issue.
