Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: hal
GG tribe 3 booted to Gnome and hall crashes massage appears.
Network (wired) not working - dhcp failed to get an ip from my lan dhcpserver
(90.0.0.1)
The tribe 3 ip was 10.0.n.n (some default within the Ubuntu, I guess.)
I tried changing the network specs to 90.0.0.73 and my gateway 90.0.0.1,
but there was no etho and the save was a save-as location (which didn't mean
anything to me.)
I started the services gui but there was no network, nor anyway to
restart the service.
This was running in Virtual-Box 1.4, where I have run many cd and
installed to virt disk including tribe 1 and 2.
Also, the host name is tied to 127.0.0.1 which is very anti-worgroup (it
needs to be a real ip so the minimum hosts files can be configured on
Windows Xp home and Pro would need it even more, especially with the
classical W2K security and no guest account.
As you can see, there are several bugs here in the form of missing or
undefined functionality.
thank you
