Are the versions for the dependencies strict? Does emacs22 really
require libasound > 1.0.14, and can't work with 1.0.13? The reason I ask
is because I, like most people, am running feisty and ideally would like
emacs22 to appear in feisty-backports (If emacs isn't a candidate for
backports what is?). But barring that would just like to install it with
as little package dependencies from gutsy as possible.

I am understandably hesitant to upgrade libc in particular.
